Titus Gall

RHYTHM GUITAR

With over 60 years of experience, Titus “Stretch” Gall brings a lifetime of passion and groove to the rhythm guitar in Petty and Friends. A self-taught musician, Stretch’s early inspiration came from legends like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton. The first time he heard Please Please Me, he knew music would be a lifelong pursuit. His playing style, deeply influenced by George Harrison and Clapton, weaves seamlessly into the band’s signature sound.

At 76, Stretch still carries the fire to perform publicly, and Petty and Friends became the perfect home for his energy and musical vision. He thrives in the camaraderie of the group, where egos take a backseat to great music and pure enjoyment. One of his favorite songs to perform is Listen to the Music by The Doobie Brothers—a track that captures the melody, tempo, and vocal harmony that he loves.

Over the years, Stretch has had some unforgettable moments on stage, including opening for Pablo Cruise and playing at the legendary Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. Offstage, his pre-show ritual is simple: making sure every amp, PA, and piece of gear is working flawlessly. But once the first note hits, it’s all about the connection with the audience. He hopes fans walk away not only appreciating the quality of the music but also seeing just how much fun the band has playing together.

Oh, and one little-known fact? Before becoming a U.S. citizen, Stretch actually carried a green card for seven years—so when he says he’s an alien, there’s a little truth to it!
